چکیده مقاله
Livestock is basis of the economy since it maintains populations by providing food and a means of subsistence, especially in the world's arid and semi-arid areas. Milk from camels is popular because of its high nutritional content and potential medicinal benefits, although little is known about its actual quality. The goal of the research was to determine how much milk the Punjab dairy camel breeds Marecha and Barela could produce. Examining scientific research on camel milk considering the production method is quite valuable. Food security and sovereignty are enhanced by the traditional practices of pastoral herds of cameleers, which also serve as a field for scientific research. In the current study, milk production and composition in the Thal desert were investigated using 100 samples taken from she-camels during the first and middle stages of lactation. Under a semi-intensive method, the average milk produce (P<0.05), the variety for Marecha and Barela she-camel were discovered to be 7.12±0.28, 8.68±0.36, & 4-9, 5-10 liters. The percentages of fat, protein, and total solids varied considerably (P<0.05) comparing the groups having more in Marecha camel milk. These results are contrasted with those from other countries, and the milk seems very rich when compared to published statistics. An extended period of observation during lactation may provide a valuable chance to evaluate these breeds' potential nationally. Future research in that field may leverage the main data source from this study.
